On the southeast corner of Front and Laurel Streets is a three-story, brick building with beautiful window trim and cornices. It was built in 1876 at a cost of $8,000 and was called the Taylor Building. By the 1940s, the Quality Boot Store was in place, bragging of its X-Ray machine that took pictures of children’s feet for measurement.
