Commencing at the Simler House, traverse east along Laurel St. You'll pass the Post Office (on your right). When you come to the intersection of Laurel and North Centre Streets, turn right, and walk in the southerly direction. The Borough Building will be on your left. Continue on. A stroll through the sweet little South Park is encouraged.

In 1871, the Journal reported that J.W. Jones purchased a lot from Mr. Albert Owen and is “erecting a frame dwelling." In 1883, the house was advertised for sale. It was occupied after his retirement by the Rev. Franklin T. Eastment, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
